Polymer photogravure workshop
Through this method you can print your photographs or your drawings with high quality results. UV light is used to transfer the image onto the plate and its development will be done with water. You will be able to match your plate with your original photograph and to print it on the etching press!

About the workshop:
This introductory course will teach you how to use environmentally friendly polymer method as a variation of intaglio method. Photopolymer combines digital media, industrial flexographic photosensitive photopolymer plates with traditional etching and inking methods. Through photopolymer you can print your photographs or your drawings with high quality results. UV light is used to transfer the image onto the plate and its development will be done with water. You will be able to match your plate with your original photograph and to print it on the etching press! After the workshop, you will come out with a handful of prints and explore the unique expressive possibilities of this method further. In this course, artists with or without experience in printmaking can participate. Please send confirmation until 16.11. to rita.vargas(a)gmail.com.

About the instructors:
Natalie Hamada is a Syrian-born, Helsinki-based artist. Hamada has a BA and MA from the Printmaking program, faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University. Hamada worked as a teacher for two years in the Faculty of Fine Arts and she is specialized in relief and silkscreen printing. Natalie Hamada took a part in many international exhibitions around Europe in Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, and Finland. Currently, she is studying a Master's program in Printmaking at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts- KuvA.
Rita Vargas is a Portuguese artist based in Finland. Vargas is educated in Fine Arts by the University of Évora (PT), Winchester School of Arts (UK), and a doctor of philosophy in Art History by the University of Jyväskylä (FIN).
